CHARGE(S): Aggravated vehicular homicide, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2903.06(A)(1)(a), a first degree felony; aggravated vehicular homicide, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2903.06(A)(2)(a), a second degree felony; failure to stop after an accident, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4549.02(A)(1), a third degree felony; tampering with evidence, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.12(A)(1), a third degree felony.
POTENTIAL PUNISHMENT: 20 years in the Ohio Department of Corrections.

ALLEGATION: High profile case of state and nationwide interest. Mr. Bennett's client was under the influence of marijuana, driving recklessly and without a license, unfortunately killed a retired, prominent Elder High School Teacher, fled the scene, hid her car and repeatedly lied to police when arrested.
RESULT: Mr. Bennett's client plead guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and received a sentence of 9 years in the Ohio Department of Corrections, far less then what others engaged in the same or less misconduct received and far less than what the public expected and desired.
